This is my Station Sound Showreel from my time at Radio Aire in Leeds. I think this must have been made in 97/98 and will have used a combination of quarter inch tape and the very first Sadie
Show Promotion
Show promotion gives you the rare opportunity to use the music stations play. I produced the 2 o'clock takeover promo with the featured tracks beat matched, creating a great flowing promo.
Total Access was The Wireless Groups networked evening show hosted by Simon Morykin when I made these promos.
All great ways to promote the show. A week long takeover by Usher, a huge giveaway to see the Scissor Sisters live in New York City and an Easter special featuring Olly Murs.
Brand Association
Company associations can be a great asset to a stations imagine and vice-verca.
Like when Disney Junior ran a series of promotions on The Pulse throughout the school summer holidays, Alton Towers promoted 'Scarefest' on the Signal 1 Breakfast Show or KWVR celebrated 50 years with a Pulse 2 live outside broadcast on the steam trains at Haworth.
Concert and Station Co-Promotion
I love making promos that involve editing and mixing music. A well cut concert promo can sound big and powerful on air and really get your listeners excited.
Promoting The Unbelievable
When League 2 Bradford City achieved the imposible and reached the Capital Cup Final in 2013, it was a real joy to capture the excitement in the city. There was no better way than creating a countdown to Wembley campaign, using commentary clips from all the games. These are the final 2 which really capture the emotion.
